Shortstack is a local women-owned business that is filling the gap in the Portland affordable housing market. Shortstack, whose name is a reference to the three to five-story midrise buildings, offers designs with shared common space and native outdoor greenery. Shortstack Mississippi is organized around a central courtyard framed by exterior timber walkways. The timber structure draws residents into a lush, communal courtyard bordered by stairs at either end.
